Privacy Policy for The Revert
Last Updated: June 2026
The Revert is a free app. We collect only what we need to run it.
1. Information We Collect
- Account: your email address (to create and secure your account).
- Profile you enter: name, gender, spiritual/religious background, Shahada date, goals, and challenges. This is synced to our cloud database (Supabase) and linked to your account, so it can be restored when you sign in, and is used to personalize your experience. Religious belief is sensitive information; we use it only to tailor content.
- Your in-app progress: journey progress, XP, streaks, badges, prayer log, journal reflections, memorization, tasbih, fasting, and Quran/Hadith progress. This is also synced to Supabase and linked to your account, so it is backed up and restored when you sign in.
- Stays on your device only: app settings and your AI chat history (your AI questions are still sent to OpenAI to generate each answer — see AI Feature below).
- Location (only when you allow it): used to calculate prayer times, Qibla direction, and find nearby mosques.
- Usage & diagnostics: app interactions and crash/performance data to keep the app working.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide prayer times, Qibla, and mosque search based on your location
- Personalize lessons and track your progress
- Generate answers in “Ask an Islamic Guide”
- Diagnose crashes and improve the app
3. AI Feature
When you use the AI guide, your question and limited profile context (such as your name and learning level) are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response. Responses are AI-generated and may be imperfect — for important matters, consult a qualified scholar. You consent to this the first time you use the feature, and you can report any response.
4. Third Parties We Use
- Supabase (account and data storage)
- OpenAI (AI guide responses)
